Mist is an ongoing photography series in extension of my video Ghost Orchid, shown as my MFA exam project.
The video explores the sexualization of nature, the language around it and the search of something that can't be found. It draws on archival material from television and personal collections, alongside film photography by the artist. These images are constantly in motion, searching for the ghost orchid and its pollinator, but also for an identity and a body of one’s own, one that can claim its place in nature on its own terms.
Mist continues this gothic search, raising questions rather than offering answers.
